Welcome to the home of the Lemon & Tunkhannock Townships Joint Municipal Sewer Authority, established and incorporated In the year of 2012. This site was created for the ease of sharing information that will develop from the Act 537 Sewage Plan Update of 2016 with regard to the Proposed Lake Carey Sanitary Sewer Collection & Treatment System Project.

DEP approved the Act 537 Updated Revision on May 4th, 2017 

DEP requested minor changes to the 2016 Updated Plan.  To see a list of these changes, refer to the letter to Mr. Ridgik following the DEP approval letter when viewing the Plan in the "Plans & Projects" section

Pennsylvania Bulletin Notice, Vol.47. No 20, May 20, 2017 - Plan approval Granted Under the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act (35 P.S. 750.5) 

June, 2017 - application to Pennvest for a Design-only loan was completed & submitted.  On July 19th, 2017 the Design-only loan was approved for $642,500

December 5th, 2017 - Pennvest Design Loan is finalized and amount updated to $628,400.00

December, 2018 - All required Permits expected to be completed before the Bid phase

August 7th, 2019 - Pennvest loan/grant application has been submitted for construction. Upon notification of funding, the Project will then move into the bidding phase.

October 16th, 2019 - Pennvest awarded $13,326,350 for construction of the Lake Carey Sewer Project. $3,317,652 as a loan and $10.008,698 as a grant.

March 16th, 2020 - Lake Carey Sewer Project out to Bid

NOTICE: April 2nd Sewer Board meeting has been canceled.  The next scheduled meeting will be May 7th @ 6 pm at the Tunkhannock Township building.

Curb taps can no longer be reserved for vacant lots.  A waiting list is available for anyone who may want one in the future.


If you did not recieve a Sewer Easement please call 570-836-0514 and one will be sent to you.

Thank you to all who completed & returned their easements promptly!  

Billings Mill Road residents will have the option of hooking onto the public sewer system at the time of installation.  At this time, the cost will be considerably less than future hookup when on-lot systems malfunction.  Please contact the Authority by email or phone if you would like to be considered for hookup or have questions on the upcoming service.

Low interest loans (1%) will be available to low to moderate income households.  Age 62 and older may qualify for grants. Second homes do not qualify.  Income ranges can be provided upon request at lttwpsma@yahoo.com or 570-836-0514.
